Weekly Curbside Pick-Up of Household Trash and Recyclables
Veolia Environmental Services, has been contracted by the Village of Denmark to collect residential trash and recyclables. Village funded residential pick up services are provided to single-family residents and apartments with three or less rental units.Businesses and owners of larger residential units should contact a trash hauler to arrange for pick up service or for a dumpster.
Veolia provides a green 18 gallon recycling bin to help property owners to contain their recyclables. If you recently moved into the Village of Denmark and the former property owner/renter did not leave the bin behind, please call Village Hall at 863-6400 to request a bin. Residents are allowed to put out five (5) thirty gallon trash bags each week
Please remember to have your trash and recycling out by 6 a.m. to ensure pick up.
How to handle materials that are acceptable.
Each week you will put out your bagged household trash and alternating recycling products to your curbside area of your home. Please review the schedule for Pick up services for 2007 and 2008 available at Village Hall for the specific dates and to find out which week is for which type of recycling is being collected. Each year a new schedule for pick ups will be available at Village Hall.
For reference, the commingle products, clean glass, glass bottles, plastic bottles, aluminum and steel cans should be placed loose in your 18 gallon provided bin.
The paper products, paper bags, newspapers, magazines, junk mail, etc, should be placed in paper sacks, bundled or in cardboard boxes no larger than 20 gallons.
Bulky Pick-Up for the Village of Denmark
The Village of Denmark does not have facilities, equipment or staff to handle the pick up of small bulky materials (chairs, TV's microwaves, etc.) or large bulky materials (white goods, large couches, etc). People who have these items should contact Veolia Environmental Services at 920-983-3341. These items will be processed at the Veolia Transfer Station in DePere, Wi and Samuels in Green Bay, Wi.
No bulky items are to be placed curbside until the day scheduled for pick up. Citizens who place items curbside earlier or leave these items at curbside for more than 24 hrs will be charged $75.00 per hour per Village employee plus dumping fees for this "value-added" Village service.
Items containing Freon
Pickup and disposal of all items containing Freon must be schedule by the resident with Veolia, and resident will be responsible for payment.
Latex and solvent-based paint products can cause harm to the environment. These materials should be taken to the Brown County Landfill drop off site, which is located at 2561 South Broadway in the Village of Ashwaubenon, just off Highway 172.
Appliances (refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, washing machines, and dryers) and tires should be either taken to the transfer station at 3734 W. Mason St. in Oneida (490-2706) just 2 miles past the technical college going west on Hwy 54(W. Mason) or you may contact Waste Management with questions at 468-5000.
Materials from major remodeling or demolition activities should also be taken to the Brown County (920-832-5277).
