Village Board Member Bios

The Denmark Board consists of a President and six Trustees-each elected to a two-year term. The Board meets the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Village Hall. All meetings are open to the public.

President Roger Stein
Roger has been a Village resident for 35 years. He's a retired machine operator.He attended De Pere High School and has an engineering degree from Northeast Wis. Tech. College. Roger and his wife Kathy have three children.Roger served on the Village Board as a Trustee from 1997-2007 and 2010-2011. He was elected Village President on April 4, 2011 for a 2-yr term.  The top issues of concern listed by Roger include dealing with State cuts to local revenues, bringing new businesses and jobs into the Village and exploring ways to use TIF funds for road and utility improvements.

    
   

Trustee Steve Giese
Steve Giese is an 8th grade science teacher at Two Rivers.He attended Green Bay West High School and obtained a bachelor's degree from U.W. Green Bay.  Steve and his wife Diane have one daughter Amber. Steve is the chairperson of the Water Utility and serves on the Administration/Finance Committee and on the Public Works & Streets Committee. Steve also chairs the Sex Offender REsidency Appeal Board. Steve has been on the Village Board since 2009. He believes  it will be a challenging job for the next year and a half  to maintain all Village services because the state has stated they will be cutting our shared revenues.

    
   

Trustee Helen Mleziva
Helen Mleziva has been on the Board since 2009 to the present.Previously she was the full-time clerk/treasurer for the Village of Denmark for 27 years from 1978 through the time of her retirement (2005). Since retirement she has helped in various organizations, as well as the church as a volunteer. Helen is the chairperson of the Administrative and Finance Committee and serves on the Sewer Utility and Forestry, Parks & Recreation  Committee.and the Economic Development Committee.  Helen believes we must watch village funds as carefully as we manage our own funds. "We cannot continue to borrow against our future, so we need to evaluate the alternative and stop any wasteful spending."

    
    Trustee Dan Dvorak
Dan Dvorak has been an Electrical Superintendent for Faith Technologies Electrical Contractor out of Appleton for 14 years. Dan and his wife Sara have two boys - a seven year old and a four year old. Dan is the chairperson for the Sewer Utility and also serves on the Administration/Finance, Economic Development Committee and the Law Enforcement committees. Dan attended Northeast Wis. Tech College, is a master electrician, served five-year apprenticeship and graduated from Valders High Shcool. He has been on the Village Board since 2003.
    
   

Trustee Laurel Towns

Laurel Towns recently retired from White Pillars Museum in DePere. Laurel and her husband have two children.Laurel was appointed to a one-year term to the Village Board in June 2011. She is a graduate of Escanaba High School and has attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and Bay de Noc Community College, Escanaba. Laurel has been a resident for 17 years. Laurel and he husband Ron live on Highridge Avenue. Laurel is the Chairperson of the Forestry, Park & Rec. Committee and also serves on the Public Works & Streets committee,the Sewer Utility. and the Sex Offender Residency Appeal Board.

 

    
   

Trustee Brandon Wotachek
Brandon Wotachek was re-elected for another two year term on April 6th 2010. Brandon is employed by Foth Infrastructure and Environment, LLC as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist. He is a 1999 graduate of Denmark High School and has a bachelor's degree in Cartography/GIS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Brandon and his wife Michelle live on Oak Court with their dog Nala. Brandon is the Public Works and Streets  Committee Chairperson. Brandon also serves on the Water Utility,  and the Law Enforcement  Committee.Brandon is also a member of the Sex Offender Residency Appeal Board.

    
   

Trustee Shawn Brady was elected to the Village Board on April 6th, 2010. He is the Engineering Supervisor for Broadband Solutions Inc. based out of DePere. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1996 and has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from NWTC. Shawn and his family moved to Denmark in 2007 and live in Daybreak Estates on Woodrow Street.

Shawn is an advocate of business and residential development. He is also interested in managing governmental funds in a fiscally prudent manner.

Shawn is the Chairperson for the Law Enforcement Committe and is also a member of the Forestry,Park & Receation Committee, and the Water Utility Committe.

    
   

Village Administrator: J.Everett Mitchell began with the Village on January 23, 2012. "Mitch" was the Village Administrator for the Village of Hortonville, Wi from April 4, 2002 to October 2010. Previously he was the Executive Director of Economic Development in Clarinda, IA from October 2000 to July 2001 He served in the U.S. Navy 1972-1976 and has a B.A. in Philosophy and in History from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
