Building InspectionThe Village inspects construction, wiring and plumbing for the safety of the public. A building permit is required for any new construction, or any remodeling that changes the structure from its original condition. Wiring may be done by the homeowner, but must be inspected. Likewise, remodeling or plumbing may be done by the homeowner, but must also be inspected. Any work that is done without obtaining the necessary permits will result in fines and the doubling of permit fees. In some cases, work done without the necessary permits may be ordered torn down or removed. It is important that you contact the Building Inspector before you begin work on your home! Building PermitsBUILDING PERMITS can be applied for at the Village Hall Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 118 E. Main Street, or by contacting Norb Buresh. The building permit fee varies depending on the square footage and the work to be done. Fees will be collected at the time the permit is picked up at the Village Hall.
